The star made an appearance on Smile Nation radio show, hosted by Gfaal, popular Gambian music Dj and presenter at Westcoast.
I was born in the Gambia, all that I knew I learn it from church in the choir, actually have been doing music since I was child.
About the Africell Be A Star, at first I was not serious about this competition until Africell called me for interview after submitting my short video which I was not expecting. From there I start seeing things differently and constantly reminding myself this can be life changing.
What motivated me was to challenge myself and learn new things and also to step out of my comfort zone. It was tough competition and there were very good contestants, the like Awa Gambia and Mariama.
I became the winner because of my experience from the choir, my character together with the guitar and also my very good interaction with the judges.
It’s actually very common to see the silent of many rising stars after winning a big competition, the Africell Be A Star’s manager responded, they are not in a rush, they want to take this slowly and involve people with more experience because music is not a child play business.
